Cotai’s Upcoming Nightlife Boom
Filed Under Macau, Macao, Cotai, ENTERTAINMENT, Nightlife, Cotai Strip® | Leave a Comment
In my last post, as I was busy plugging my new site DailyDoseofVegas.com, I rambled on a bit about how important nightclubs and nightlife has become to Las Vegas. It really is pretty amazing how Las Vegas has transformed itself from a gambling and $5 buffet destination to the nightlife and entertainment capital of the United States. At this point, around half of the revenue generated on the Las Vegas Strip is non-gaming. I dont know the figures in Macao, but if I had to guess, Read more

Its official: Playboy hops on to Cotai

Book me at the Heff!
Back in February, I wrote about the rumor that Playboy would launch a club in the Cotai area as part of the Macao Studio City hotel and casino complex. Well, the company finally confirmed the rumors yesterday in a press release.
The new club, called Playboy Mansion Macao, will feature approximately 40,000 square-foot of numerous nightlife and entertainment options, dining, specialty retail elements and a Hugh M. Hefner Villa.”
The gaming section of the club will be an extention to Macao Studio City’s casino floor, and will offer the “ambiance of a luxurious private residence.” When you’re done losing at the baccarat tables and giving the bunny dealer way too much in tips, there will be a contemporary intertpretation of the famous Playboy pool and grotto if you need to take a dip and cool off. If you hit it big at the tables, or enjoying the ambiance of Heff’s house is not enough, you may want to splurge on the ultimate overnight accomodation, the Hugh Heffner Villa.
This will get alot of attention when Macao Studio City finally opens in Cotai, but if Macau is anything like Vegas, there will be alot more half-naked women running around the Hard Rock at The City of Dreams.

Wynn’s Tryst nightclub closes

Unfortunately for Wynn, what is happening in Vegas, is staying in Vegas
The Las Vegas Strip has reinvented itself over the past five years by really turning up its nightlife offerings with an unprecedanted launching of upscale dining and nightclub offerings. Since Cotai is hoping to replicate the Las Vegas Strip’s success, nightlife will be crucial to the Cotai’s success.
So when a popular Las Vegas nightclub cant’ make it in Macau’s most extravagant and luxurious casino resort, you have to pause for a second and ask yourself if this is a sign of things to come. I hope not, but when you look at this, along with the retail problem in Mainland China, you need to wonder.

Macau Studio City history and Playboy Club
Filed Under Macau, Cotai, COTAI CASINOS, ENTERTAINMENT, eSun and New Cotai, Macau Studio City, Nightlife | Leave a Comment
Half-naked women, film studios, and hotel rooms. No, its not porn - its Macau Studio City!
Macau Business has an indepth article on the story behind eSun, New Cotai, and Capitaland’s Macau Studio City casino resort. It is too long and complicated to summarize here, so I suggest reading through it. (**more below**)
The new stuff is that Macau Business is claiming to have broken Macau Studio City’s secret that a Playboy Club will be included in their Cotai project. Based on the article’s sources, it sounds like a good bet that Playboy is coming to Macau. Playboy recently opened its first Playboy Club in a long, long time at the Palms in Las Vegas, so it makes sense that they would look to a Macau club as a launching pad into China.
