Analyst: Hengqin worth $34 per share to Las Vegas Sands
Filed Under Macau, Cotai, Las Vegas Sands, Hengqin Island, Wall Street | Leave a Comment
Wall Street analyst Lawrence Klatzkin believes the present value of Las Vegas Sand’s Hengqin Island opportunity is worth $34 per share to LVS. Using the analyst’s $34 per share, and applying it to the approximately 350 million shares outstanding, I am getting a total present value of $12 billion of value assigned to the 2,000 acres of land LVS plans to develop in Hengqin. Klatzkin is assuming LVS can get $750/acre over an 11 year time frame. Keep in mind that this is just the LVS parcel on Hengqin. Aside from the LVS plot, most of Hengqin is still undeveloped and I have not yet heard of any other concrete plans at this point to develop other sites on the island.
Hengqin Island is an undeveloped island 3 times the size of Macao, just a few hundred metres to the west of Macau. LVS plans to develop part of the island to compliment its Cotai Strip®.
